Telehealth increases access to therapy by reducing the barriers of time and distance. A number of studies have concluded that online therapy is equivalent to face-to-face interventions on most dimensions including scheduling/attendance, reducing behavioral health stigma and establishing a therapeutic alliance. PSYPACT is an interstate compact that allows licensed psychologists to practice telehealth and to conduct temporary in-person face-to-face practice of psychology across state boundaries legally and ethically without having to be licensed in every state to practice. At the moment, PSYPACT legislation is fully effective in 43 states. If you choose to file for reimbursement I will provide you a monthly Superbill that includes all required information to submit to your insurance company. Please contact your insurance company to clarify coverage and out-of-network benefits. Some helpful questions to ask are: Do I have out-of-network benefits? If so, what percentage is covered? Do I have a deductible? Is prior authorization required? How do I submit a claim for reimbursement? How long does it take to process reimbursements? What is the reimbursement rate for CPT code 90834 and 90837? The fee for a 50-minute individual psychotherapy session is $240.
